The current economic crisis has marginalized America’s workers. While a lot of attention is being paid to bailing out corporations and regulating overpaid CEO’s, there has been little mention of the real stories of the millions of workers left vulnerable to the floundering economy because they do not have the option to bargain for a better life.
That’s why M+R helped American Rights at Work (ARAW) launched the Faces of the Employee Free Choice Act. The Faces project uses the real-life stories and faces of America’s workers to call on Congress to pass the Employee Free Choice Act, which would help level the playing field in the workplace and give workers the freedom to choose a union! M+R worked with ARAW to design and launch the project at an event on Capitol Hill that featured "The West Wing" actors Martin Sheen, Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff. We also plastered the faces of real workers on gigantic building banners around Washington, D.C. to help bring to life the faces and stories of the more than 1.5 million American workers who support the bill.
M+R then helped ARAW take the Face project to five targeted states using mobile billboards and organizing rallies to keep the issue front-and-center in lawmakers’ minds. The Faces project created quite a buzz on the Hill and made news around the country! Click here to learn more about the Employee Free Choice Act and join ARAW’s campaign!
