Mobile Communications Programs

Mobile phones are no longer a “new” tool of social activism. Mobile users have their phones with them nearly at all times, so a mobile text program allows an organization to communicate and engage with supporters wherever they are.

To reflect this opportunity, M+R manages mobile communications programs that are deeply integrated with email messaging, social networking and offline opportunities including events, advertising and media, for clients including NARAL Pro-Choice America, Human Rights Campaign, AARP, Oxfam America, Wildlife Conservation Society, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and others.

Our recent work includes:

  • Designing and promoting NARAL Pro-Choice America’s “Txt4Choice” campaign, which gave mobile users information about the presidential candidates’ positions on choice, updates from the field on Election Day, and even their state’s rank on reproductive choice;
  • Promoting mobile giving options through targeted email and social media campaigns for clients like Oxfam America;
  • Integrating the Human Rights Campaign’s mobile program into other programs, including conducting tests to determine whether text messaging can be use to increase the performance of online communications and optimizing emails for mobile devices;
  • Tripling AARP’s mobile list in just 9 months by creating mobile-optimized advocacy and fundraising forms, integrating mobile with email messaging and offline activities, building specialized call-in tools, and more.
