M+R and American Rights at Work have been engaged in a successful partnership since 2005, promoting workers’ rights by fighting for labor law reform in Congress and by launching hard-hitting campaigns against Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, FedEx, Verizon, and Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, among others.
Recently, M+R has provided significant guidance and strategy for a multi-union campaign to pass the Employee Free Choice Act – the centerpiece of labor law reform. M+R helped American Rights at Work launch “Faces of the Employee Free Choice Act,” an online-offline campaign that used the real-life stories and faces of America’s workers.
M+R helped develop all facets of the campaign – from launching a kickoff event on Capitol Hill featuring actors from “The West Wing,” to plastering workers’ photos on gigantic building-sized banners around Washington, D.C., to organizing mobile billboards and rallies in five targeted states – in order to keep the issue front-and-center. Since we started working together, American Rights at Work‘s list has grown to more than 170,000 supporters. We continue to help implement American Rights at Work’s dynamic online advocacy program, organizing e-activists to stand strong for workers’ rights and labor law reform, and to rally against anti-labor interest groups and corporations.
