M+R has helped clients recruit and amplify grasstops support and put strategic pressure on policymakers around a broad range of issues through local coalition-building. Our targeted strategies help identify likely allies and draw those allies into the campaign fold. By using organizers who are already deeply rooted in key states – rather than parachuting field staff in from Washington, D.C. – M+R helps clients tap into existing alliances with important local stakeholders and use those relationships to quickly recruit new support from among local business, faith-based, labor, political, media, and other ‘grasstops’ leaders.
