Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) turned to M+R to help make its second-ever national Lobby Day even more successful than the first. During HFHI’s four day “Habitat on The Hill” event, HFHI advocates asked Congress to support secure tenure legislation – which protects tenants from unlawful evictions – and pass the National Housing Trust Fund – a dedicated funding source that would produce and preserve housing for the nation’s lowest income households.
M+R experts worked with HFHI affiliates to develop a “meta-message” in order to better articulate what makes HFHI special, build consensus and heighten visibility. Over 150 housing advocates met with hundreds of members of Congress on HFHI’s Lobby Day, and Members then joined affiliates at a dinner reception on the Hill.
