The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization dedicated to the aid of New York City’s homeless.  Through 11 direct service programs meant to engage the homeless and stabilize their lives as they transition toward self-sufficiency, the Coalition provides vital assistance to over 3,500 New Yorkers each day.

In 2007, M+R helped secure important new federal funding to support the Coalition’s Youth Services Program, which improves the quality of life for homeless youth in New York through several intervention and advocacy services.  By building a comprehensive federal appropriations strategy and recruiting the support of key stakeholders in Congress, M+R helped the Coalition secure its first federal earmark of nearly $450,000 in new funding.
