M+R provides ongoing training, technical assistance and evaluation throughout the year to help Affiliates of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Advocacy Alliance develop their advocacy skills. We work closely with the advocacy liaisons of 50 Komen Affiliates in every region of the country to help them foster support in their area for a wide range of state and federal policy initiatives. Participants in the trainings learn the terms and tools of managing issue-campaigns, including building coalitions, generating grassroots advocacy, earning media coverage, conducting meetings with policymakers, integrating advocacy into Komen events, and connecting with their online supporters.
M+R’s trainers have helped Komen Affiliates with little or no advocacy experience start from scratch to win major public policy victories that are saving lives.
