In 2005, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® invited its affiliates and volunteers nationwide to participate in its annual April Lobby Day.  M+R was there to help.  We managed all aspects of the lobby day, including scheduling, material development, logistics, transportation, accommodations, coordinating special events with Members of Congress, and training attendees regardless of previous experience or skill level.
 
The result was a resounding success!  M+R helped nearly triple the number of Lobby Day participants, bringing 43 Affiliate representatives to Capitol Hill to conduct over 160 meetings with Members of Congress.  M+R worked with Komen to generate local and national press about the Lobby Day around the country.  We then developed a comprehensive method of tracking the results of the Lobby Day meetings and used that feedback to inform Komen’s legislative strategy and identify opportunities to build lasting relationships with Members.  M+R continues to steer Komen through its annual Lobby Day each year.

We also conduct trainings throughout the year to help Komen Affiliates develop their advocacy skills.
