The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center turned to M+R for help securing the federal dollars necessary to support critical infrastructure needs and health and mental health programs.
M+R led the Center’s lobbying efforts in D.C., from writing and filing initial federal appropriation requests to relationship-building with Members of Congress. We helped the Center host Congressional stakeholders at on-site tours and demonstrations in order to emphasize the Center’s expertise, capacity and immediate need. As a result, several members of the New York congressional delegation continue to support the Center’s appropriations requests. With this critical backing, M+R has helped the Center secure multiple appropriations including a methamphetamine prevention initiative that amounted to one of the largest federal earmarks ever received by an LGBT organization!
