The successful candidate will support M+R's senior communications staff in a variety of responsibilities ranging from client management and developing media strategy, to campaign implementation and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Account Executive/Senior Consultant will possess client management and service acumen, strong media relations and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to create high-impact outreach strategies that involve multiple communications tools and tactics.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5-7 Years of experience, including a significant time spent in a PR firm;
- Political, public policy or nonprofit experience also desirable;
- Proven media relations aptitude (including feature stories, expert positioning, op-eds) with both national and high-level regional media - experience with Spanish-language media a plus;
- Account/team management coupled with quality client relations;
- Experience in running/implementing integrated campaigns;
- Strong writing skills coupled with creative and strategic thinking; and
- Background in social media/web 2.0 tools and tactics.

Required Skills and Experience
- 1-2 Years of professional experience — must include time in a PR setting, either in a fulltime position or relevant internships;

Issue Campaign Organizer
M+R Strategic Services is looking for an Issue Campaign Organizer with a strong background in campaign work, organizing and issue advocacy to join our New York City team. M+R has served some of New York’s and the nation’s best nonprofit causes over the past 15 years. The Associate will provide support to senior members of our team and work on some of the most pressing issues of our day with our clients, including the Campaign for New York’s Future, Susan G. Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to mobilize communities for various projects;

- Attend meetings of and/or conduct presentations for civic organizations, communities of faith, students, other associations and groups;

• Influence Public Policy. The Internet is revolutionizing how the public engages in policy and our democracy. Be a part of putting the ‘public’ back in ‘public policy.’ From emails, faxes, and phone calls to district meetings, lobby days, and protests, you'll use the Internet to develop effective online campaigns that help our clients win on their issues.
• Raise Money Online. M+R has helped nonprofit groups like Oxfam America and the Save Darfur Coalition raise hundreds of thousands of dollars online. You’ll work with our clients to provide overall direction to their online fundraising efforts, craft a series of email appeals to their existing supporters, and develop and implement online fundraising campaigns that will reach entirely new audiences using traditional and Web 2.0 methods.
• Deepen Relationships with Online Supporters. From e-newsletters to action alerts to fundraising appeals, you will design a strategy to deepen our clients’ relationship with their supporters and maximize returns. Identify and organize leaders and volunteers and take online supporters ‘beyond email’ to engage in real-world volunteer activities.
Job Responsibilities
The Consultant will work with a team of media relations professionals, grassroots organizers, public affairs specialists, technology vendors, and others to develop and implement integrated strategies for online campaigns.
• Client Management. Serve as a point of contact for 2-3 nonprofit clients, managing the day-to-day relationship with those clients. • Project Management. Manage a team of specialists and vendors through development and marketing projects from start to finish. • Message & Content Development. Work with our online writers to develop messages that will be used to promote our clients online, reinforce the client’s core brand, and also synchronize with the offline campaigning efforts. • Media Outreach. Reach out to online media outlets to promote our Internet campaigns. • Online Marketing. Coordinate advertising campaigns and implement other marketing efforts such as search engine registration, DotCom partnerships, etc. • Database Management. Manage databases of online activists to ensure that data is kept current and to maximize return rates from online activism and fundraising appeals. • Reporting & Data Analysis. Produce regular reports on online program and campaign results, and work with our data analyst to produce Return on Investment analyses and more in depth additional reports and analyses, as needed. • Technology Management. Work with our clients to manage their technology providers (ASPs) and offer advice on other technology solutions for our clients.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who wants to work in a team and enjoys the dynamic of a fast-paced organization where we juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines simultaneously without dropping the ball. We need a smart, talented, ambitious, geeky individual who can do it all and is committed to making a difference.
Successful applicants must be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, have experience managing multiple projects at once and dealing with clients, communicate effectively both on paper and in person, and be comfortable adapting to new technologies. 3+ years of technology, nonprofit or political experience and a demonstrated interest in political and social change are required.
