Oxfam America

When M+R began working with Oxfam America, the organization had an email list of just 4,000 people.  Oxfam staff knew they were missing opportunities to raise funds and generate meaningful political impact online. 

With M+R's help, Oxfam developed a plan and grew its email list to more than 343,000 online supporters! We then helped Oxfam launch an online fundraising program closely integrated with offline fundraising efforts and with the online advocacy program.

As a result of this holistic approach, the online program has raised nearly $40 million since 2002. How did we do it? M+R helped Oxfam build an integrated approach that included:

  • Building an email list through paid and earned media and viral list growth;
  • Developing a personalized strategy for activists recruited through offline events;
  • Creating online fundraising campaigns for Oxfam’s ongoing and emergency relief work;
  • Converting offline donors to online giving;
  • Maximizing online donations through ongoing appeals and a redesigned giving form;
  • Testing and standardizing a monthly giving program aimed at recent donors;
  • Launching proactive and compelling end-of-year fundraising campaigns; and
  • Conducting 501(c)4 fundraising for legislative advocacy work.

We continue to help Oxfam develop and implement an innovative program to support its critical relief work around the globe.
