M+R offers trainings that cut across all aspects of campaigning – but every training is tailored to an organization’s unique issues, challenges and opportunities. Our goal is to use each training as an opportunity to increase our partners’ capacity to be effective for the long-term.
Power Prism® Trainings – Developed by M+R’s Lori Fresina, the Power Prism® is a straightforward framework for understanding and conducting advocacy campaigns. This step-by-step model helps M+R clients build momentum behind their campaigns by leveraging the six “power tools” of advocacy. Advocates from the College Board, Habitat for Humanity International, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Advocacy Alliance, and others have learned to use the Power Prism® in order to put more power in their campaign punch. Read more here (PDF)!
Advocacy Trainings – M+R’s advocacy trainings build capacity at the individual and community levels – empowering local advocates around the country with the tools and tactics needed to plan and implement effective campaigns. Media Trainings – Our communications pros have worked with the world-class staff and affiliates of organizations like the American Diabetes Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and Habitat for Humanity International to develop compelling and effective advocacy messages and then trained those advocates to deliver well-honed messages to a variety of audiences, including the media and state and federal lawmakers.
