After supporting the rebranding and public launch of Fòs Feminista in 2021, M+R helped define and disseminate Fòs Feminista’s organizational voice in the media. Fòs Feminista’s messaging has been crucial in the effort to push back against the ripple effect of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and ongoing attacks against LGBTQ people that have emboldened bad actors globally.
With their extensive network of partners around the world, Fòs Feminista has been able to facilitate knowledge-sharing among feminist activists across borders while strengthening the global feminist movement and pushing back against anti-feminist movements.
To accomplish our goal of amplifying Fòs Feminista and their partners’ work to top journalists to bolster Fòs Feminista’s fundraising and advocacy efforts, our media team focused on three key areas of work.
- Our ad hoc media outreach support helped elevate Fòs Feminista’s brand to key journalists and position its experts as leading voices in the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) movement.
- By developing narrative storyteller content, we generated timely and compelling stories that were leveraged across several modalities including Fòs Feminista’s website and social media platforms, as well as digital and direct mail campaigns.
- Lastly, we consistently monitored and tracked key events and narratives emerging in the news across Fòs Feminista’s priority countries and regions, primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean.
With press hits secured from this strategy, we wove those headlines into digital ads and fundraising emails.
